In the early 1800’s Hawai‘i became the primary Exporter of ‘Iliahi (Hawaiian Sandalwood). The oil rich wood was commonly used to make sweet smelling incense and fragrance. Much like the sweet fragrance produced from ‘Iliahi, our lives are a sweet aroma to Ke Akua as described in 2 Corinthians 2:15.
“He mea ‘ala mākou no Kristo i ke Akua” - We are a fragrance of Christ to God
