At Aloha Ke Akua Clothing Company, our mission is to share God’s love with the people of Hawai‘i. With this in mind we’ve donated to various non-profits, hula hālau’s, Hawaiian language programs, churches, church projects & missions, and so much more. Although we’ve done a lot in a few years, we believe there is still more work to be done.
We are started The Kōkua Initiative to support various needs in Hawai‘i. Hawai‘i, while beautiful in so many ways, can be dark under the surface of sunshine. Our islands are riddled with drug use, financial poverty, human trafficking, homelessness, mass incarceration, and environmental issues. The Kōkua Initiative was made to raise awareness and financial support to those fighting against the darkest issues in Hawai‘i.
100% of profits for select products on our site will be donated to various non-profits in the state of Hawaii. These Non-profits are hand chosen, and are working hard to help with our island’s most difficult problems.
The first non-profit we’re partnering with is Mālama Pregnancy Center. This Non-profit organization provides support, counseling, and education for pregnant women on Maui. They offer many different free services including: pregnancy testing, OB Ultrasound, pregnancy/newborn necessities, birthing and parenting classes, & car seats. A couple of the most meaningful services they provide are adoption referrals & post-abortion healing and support.
Did you know in 2018 there were a total of 2,121 abortions in Hawai‘i according to the Hawai‘i State Department of Health. Hawai‘i has about 18,000 pregnancies each year, meaning 11-12% of pregnancies in Hawai‘i end in abortion.
We hold strongly to the belief that every life is precious and beautifully made by ke Akua. The Bible depicts the creation and character of newborns in Psalm 139:13-16, Jeremiah 1:5, and we even see emotions from baby John the Baptist in his mother’s womb in Luke 1:41-44.
Through the Kōkua Initiative we want to bring awareness to Mālama Pregnancy Center & provide financial assistance so they can continue to provide free assistance to pregnant women on Maui. To provide support we have created this pine ‘enamela koki‘o ‘ula, hibiscus enamel pin. 100% of profits from this pin, forever, will be donated to Mālama Pregnancy Center. We have also made a Kōkua Initiative Tee that will currently support Mālama Pregnancy Center with 100% of profits.
We are very excited to take another step in our business to support the awesome non-profits in our community tackling some of the hardest issues in Hawai‘i.
